I am also sad for 2 reasons...
1.) She is growing up WAY TO FAST
2.) On the other side of the world there are two people who remember this day...probably as it was yesterday. Two people who will not know Emma nor probably never will, as we do. Two people who brought her into this world and unfortunately had to let her go all within days of each other.
To Emma's birthparents:
We are so ever grateful to you and please know she is growing up and turning into a beautiful young lady. She is smart, beautiful, outgoing, loving, sensitive to others, compassionate, and caring. You name it...Emma is it.
She loves to play dress up and have tea parties. She loves to write her name and send cards to people. She can spell color words, write all of her letters, and is attempting to tie her shoes. She never forgets a thing and is very inquisative...has been that ever since she was placed in our arms. She loves to eat rice and corn on the cob (her two favorite foods). She has many friends and enjoys playdates. She is in love with her Nana and Papa, Grandma and Grandpa. And her two Uncles light up her world. Her Daddy is her best friend and her mommy is her super best friend. She told her daddy the other day..."Dad you are my superhero" (gulp). She loves pre-school and daycare and gets very nice compliments from her teachers. She enjoys swimming lessons and dance class and going to story hour at the library. She loves to sing and dance. She is a happy go lucky little girl.
Emma loves to remind us of China and prays everynight that her China mom and dad are safe and sound. She enjoys talking about China and is so excited about her baby sister Ella.
If you knew Emma now...you would be so proud. We are. She has a smile that lights up a room and a laugh that would even make the grinch smile :o).
We would like to thank you for our beautiful baby girl. Please also know we feel the pain and emptiness you must have in your hearts. Please now as hard as it was leaving your sweet baby at the train station that day...that our world was filled with happiness. Happiness that a baby would be brought to a loving home. We are so happy we could do this for you. Know that she is in good hands and she is thriving. Without you...there would be no Emma. I often think as I watch Emma in action...how many traits and qualities she has from you, her birhparents. For that we are thankful...she will always have a part of you inside of her.
So today as we celebrate our daughter's 4th birthday...we will remember you as we light a candle...the smell of the candle will remind us of you, her birthparents and of her birthplace.
