Happy New Year

Well 2009 is over and this family is looking forward to many new beginnings in 2010! We are anxiously awaiting the completion of our new home! We have designed it from top to bottom and can't wait to call it home!

2009 was a great year for us. We traveled a lot, Emma started Kindergarten and we sold our home.

We would like to wish everyone a wonderful 2010 with peace, love, and happiness! We look forward to the months to come as we celebrate our new home and hopefully the coming of our new daughter.

Our first major injury...ouch!

Well...it happened...a Mommy's worst nightmare...
the dreaded call from the school nurse. "Mrs. Paprocki, Emma fell off of the slide at recess and has a scratch the size of a quarter on her cheek. OK, I say. I go up to the school to volunteer that afternoon and Emma tells me her wrist hurt and she was nursing it pretty good. So I call her doctor and he ordered x-rays at the hospital and sure enough fractured in two places. So we have a bright pink cast signed by everyone and anyone! We took her for a one week follow up today and the doctor said three more weeks of the cast and maybe a splint for a week. It is healing up really fast and she won't need it as long as they initially expected. Her face is healing as well (and by the way) it was larger than a quarter).

Happy Summer!

I always forget about this blog thing!!!! Our summer is coming to an end as I get in gear to start school next week...yes NEXT WEEK!

My baby starts Kindergarten in August. I am happy and sad at the same time.

We had two big weddings the past two weekends in Nebraska. One for Ted's buddy Frank and then the following weekend for his cousin Mandy! We had an awesome time visiting with family and friends and had a great little family getaway. We had a chance to do some fun things in Omaha like the zoo (which is awesome) and the Children's Museum.

Here is a picture from Frank's wedding!

Hope you are all having a great summer!

Turning 5 is right around the corner...

As I sit in total disbelief...I can't believe just a few short years ago I was getting off of an airplane to introduce one curious baby to my family. Now that baby is turning 5. I am excited for Emma but at the same time so sad to see her grow up SO fast....

Please say a prayer for this mommy as her baby is getting ready to enter a whole new world! By the way...she thinks Kindergarten starts next Tuesday...the day after she turns 5!

Lord help us for the next few months!

I will post the BIG Barbie Diamond Castle Party this weekend some time!

One proud mom of this GREAT nation!

As I sit and reflect on the activities and happenings of January 20, 2009. I feel honored to live in this great nation...where my daughter lives the Martin Luther King dream..as proven today. My daughter or any of our children "will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."

I am so proud to have my daughter witness such an awesome event and defeat for our country. I think as I reflect on today's events...I will reflect through my daughter's eyes where she sees no difference in a person. I had the opportunity to watch the days events with her (since she was home sick:(). Emma always says she wants curly hair...well as they were scrolling through old photos of Mr. President...she looked at me and said..."Mommy I wish I had Obama's curly hair!" Through a child's eye there is no color, no race, just a person. When we watched the ball tonight...she commented on the beautiful dress Michelle had on and said..."Mommy she is a beautiful princess." "She has straight hair like me!" I guess what I am trying to get at is I hope my daughter NEVER encounters any negative feeling towards her about being any different from the next person, because we teach her everyone is different for good reasons. I hope that every person no matter what race, nationality, etc., etc. have the same opportunities that you and I do. I hope that that equality prevails for all!

I am a proud Mom and a proud American tonight. Proud to be a part and witness one of the most monumental moments in our nation's history. I feel I have a connection with Dr. King...always standing firm and fighting for what I believe in...I know he is happy today to see one of his many dreams come to life.

As I close, I would like to leave you photos of another proud day in my life that signifies life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness:
